Odile Faludi , who  is one if the most influential sales people in the country, has been diagnosed with a rare stage 4 rectal cancer - and is staying positive!. She will be sharing her story, tips and experience  about navigating the journey of fighting for her life - to raise awareness and help others.

What is being done in fighting rare cancers and how you can help:

Odile has invited 2 of AUstralia's leading experts - Professor Clare Scott, AM and Professor David Goldstein -  who will share their insights of rare cancers and the work being done in this field. 



Odile is seeking to raise $100,000 to support a dedicated oncologist at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute (“WEHI”) who will study rare squamous cell cancer (SCC) in Australian patients to support  the research. 🔬

* About Professor Clare Scott, AM


Professor Clare Scott holds the Chair in Gynaecological Cancer at the University of Melbourne, is Joint Division Head of Clinical Translation and a Laboratory Head at WEHI (Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research). Claire is a Medical Oncologist at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Royal Women’s and Royal Melbourne Hospitals.

Professor Scott has 25 years’ experience in clinical cancer genetics, including working in Familial Cancer Clinics. Her clinical expertise is in gynaecological cancers and coordinating care for patients with rare cancers. Her laboratory focuses on drug resistance in ovarian cancer and other rare cancer types.

* About Professor David Goldstein: MBBS, FRCP (UK), FRACP

Professor David Goldstein is a conjoint clinical professor at UNSW with an extensive track record in novel therapeutics trials and clinical and laboratory research into pancreatic cancer. His research interests include rare gastrointestinal cancers such as gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GIST), psychosocial care (particularly migrant populations), symptom management, treatment-related toxicity, and cancer survivorship. 

David was awarded the John Zalcberg OAM Award for Excellence in clinical trials research from the Australasian Gastrointestinal Trials Group (AGITG, 2016), and the Cancer Institute NSW (CINSW), Prof. Rob Sutherland Make a Difference Award (2017) in recognition of his contribution to the field.
