The Israeli government might have done and are still doing things I don’t agree with - (vis a vis West Bank )
and certain IDF actions should be investigated .
Israel should be held to high standards — particularly because Jewish and Zionist values place such importance on human life, justice, morality and responsibility.
With core values shared by most religions around the world
- Tikun Olam - Looking after Nature and each other - treat each other and things around you as you would like to be treated
- Building Community - We are one , but we are many
- Believing in a supreme being - the lord our G-d the lord is one - blessed be the kingdom , the power and the glory forever and ever
But when the leftist liberals scream
- “Stop the genocide and ethnic cleansing”
- “Globalise the intifada”
- “From the river to the sea”
The only thing that they will be causing is the ethnic cleansing of Jews and the destruction of Palestine.
I’m not sure where the 7 million Jews in Israel will go!!
I’m not sure what will happen to the rest of the Jews around the world.
We have a good idea from history
- You can condemn the actions of a government without condemning a country’s people.
- You can demand accountability from soldiers who break the law without condemning an entire army or society.
- And you can care deeply about Palestinian suffering without turning that suffering into hatred of Jews or Zionists.
I agree
- Hold governments accountable.
- Hold individuals accountable.
- Demand better.
Jews should live to the highest of values and be accountable for their actions .
But don’t turn legitimate outrage into collective guilt.
This is what is happening at these demonstrations around the world
When legitimate criticism around the world - week by week - crosses into something else: slogans and demonstrations that portray “Zionists” or Jews supporting the Jewish State of Israel - collectively as evil, criminal or complicit, or treat the still-contested legal accusation of genocide as though it automatically establishes the guilt of an entire people.
- And that is what I believe should come out of the Royal Commission in Australia!!! Australia shoukd be a great example of living like “we are one but we are many”
- And that is why it is Important for the 7 million Jews in Israel and those that support the state of Israel to protect its survival.
Israel has no other choice!
