As a GenX,Y or Z in the workplace - Where to from here ?

A challenge for doctors, lawyers, architects , it professionals,  tradies and  ex -inmates - is they do their time,  learn their profession and trade and  go into the outside world - with no knowledge of leadership skills, business and business processes and how to get ahead in this dog eat dog world .

Many get jobs and feel that they are in a rut.

Others become entrepreneurs and set up their own business

Instead of answers - I just have a lot of questions

  • How do you break through the ceiling of the deeply entrenched power structures of the baby boomers ?
  • How do you outperform, play politics, and make it to the top?
  • How do you empower and support diverse teams - and #breakthebias - and build a culture that’s not only diverse - but also equitable and inclusive ?
  • How do you have different people for into decision-making roles ?
  • How do you beat recruitment bias?
  • How do you as a “new age human”  get to make those key decisions about how you treat your staff, who you promote and what stories you celebrate?
  • How do you get to make decisions about what content you produce, what products you build, and how you spend your capital.
  • How do you play your own game, break the rules of the existing game, and redesign and reshape the systems you operate in?

To answer some of the above -  you need to build on the foundations  - you need to understand the current rules of the game.

The Nexttech / BSI / BBG Challenge

  • How do we educate and empower a new generation of people to embrace the power of #dei?
  • How do we enable your employee to change their mind shift from being a 9-5 worker - to being a lifelong learner
  • How can make it easy for people to  upskill and reskill?
  • What skills are necessary to change the mindset from a worker to a life long learner and leader ?Maybe Leadership Skills, Innovation skills, Business skills , Collaboration skills

We need a new set of leaders …. There needs to be a change of guard

  • What are we teaching our Nexttech generation
  • How do we want them to interact ?
  • What do we want them to achieve
  • What skills are necessary for them to achieve ?
  • What is the platform for them to enable them to collaborate learn and grow together ?
  • How  can we engage enthuse and excite people to come along for the ride - to collaborate learn and grow together ?
