Ross Greenwood has a vast knowledge of the financial market and current affairs and is one of Australia’s mostrespected commentators having covered finance and business matters in Australia and around the world for almost 30 years.
Well-known on both radio and TV, Ross is currently business and finance editor of Channel 9’s Today show and was also co-host of Nine’s former flagship current affairs program, SUNDAY. As a director of listed investment company WAM Capital, Ross has practical finance experience. Avril Henry is an expert in communication skills and human relations. She migrated to Australia from South Africa in 1980 with two suitcases, $500 and a dream to live freely and make a difference. Christine Holgate is the CEO of Blackmores, Australia’s biggest brand of vitamins, herbal and mineral health supplements, responsible for dramatically increasing its sales and product range and boosting its presence in Asia. She also sits on the board of Ten Network along with the likes of Lachlan Murdoch and Gina Rinehart.
After a 17-year career in senior positions in Europe, Asia and the Americas she decided to move to Australia for a life change. After more than a decade in roles from marketing to investor relations at Cable & Wireless and as head of marketing for Europe for investment bank JP Morgan (where she was the only woman on its executive team in the region) she’s no strange to the challenges of breaking the glass ceiling. Although warned about Australia’s blokey culture that would make it hard for a woman to make her mark, not long after she arrived she landed a senior marketing role with Telstra rising through the senior ranks in less than a decade before joining Blackmores.
A fantastic role model to senior management she leads by example and supports many community initiatives particularly mentoring programs for students through the Australian Business and Community Network and women in business through Chief Executive Women of Australia.

Kieran Flanagan is one of the few female leaders in the “Mad Men” world of advertising and the co-author of Shift, a book that explores the way perceptions, people and products are shifting and changing at an unprecedented rate.
She is a passionate advocate for the commercial power of creativity and a return to more human engagement, cultures and leadership. Detective Superintendent Deborah Wallace APM, a 30-year veteran of the NSW Police Force but has been disrupting organised crime since the 90s. Known as the “smiling assassin” within crime circles, she is a force to be reckoned with despite her warm, bubbly personality. In the Australia Day 2011 Honours List she was awarded the Australian Police Medal and in 2010 received the prestigious Bev Lawson Memorial Award recognising outstanding women in law enforcement.
When Deborah joined in 1983, women police officers had to initial “F” for female at the end of their reports! Her profile first rose in 1986 when she dressed as murdered nurse Anita Cobby for a police re-enactment. In 2008, she became the first woman to lead the Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad, handling NSW’s most serious criminal incidents most notably patrolling the streets of Cabramatta where she acquired her skills dealing with ethnic groups and developing social solutions to the drug problems plaguing the area. From 2005 she headed the South East Asian Crime Squad in the aftermath of the political assassination of John Newman MP and the murder of the leader of the infamous 5T Gang . Glen Gerreyn is a former athlete, the founder of The Oxygen Factory and The Hopefull Organisation, the force behindThe Roar Effect, a movement to end youth suicide, and the author of three books - Get Your Hopes Up, Oxygen: 102 Doses of Inspiration and Men of Honour.
Glen believes we can create a truly motivated and engaged workforce and business growth by reigniting people's hope - the most powerful driver of human achievement. Peter Baines is an expert in helping businesses to build effective sustainable leadership programs.
A highly-awarded former member of the Australian Police Force with a background in law, forensic science and management, he has worked on national and international capacity-building projects around counter terrorism and leadership.
Peter was part of the leadership team that responded to the 2002 Bali bombings and the 2004 tsunami in South East Asia with both these events testing his leadership theories in exceptionally trying environments.
His experiences led him to found the charity Hands Across the Water to raise funds and awareness to support the children of Thailand left orphaned by the tsunami. Marcus Crow is an entrepreneur, member of Mensa and the founder of 10,000 Hours, a business that delivers daring ideas in a safe pair of hands, combining years of experience with fresh thinking to facilitate high-stakes conversations that inform and improve the work of individuals and teams.
Malcolm Gladwell’s book Outliers popularised the research that showed those at the top of their craft, trade, vocation or profession all possessed no less than 10,000 hours or about 10 years of deliberate practice. As a speaker Marcus shares ideas that are grounded in robust academic thinking and proven through his own 10,000 hours in the daily grind of commerce.
His corporate career has given him an understanding of the sales and marketing front end of business and the operational middle and back end of service delivery, compliance and control. Angela Vithoulkas has been a café owner for 27 years and runs the award-winning Vivo Café in Sydney’s city centre.
The GFC not only saw a big slump in her turnover but motioned a shift in the way people work, simply because so many lost permanent jobs and had to adapt. Email and internet had already made the workplace mobile, but more and more people began to use cafes as a de facto office or “coffice”. So, Angela picked up on this trend and reinvented her business as a hub for people that started-up small businesses or became independently employed.
Taking the concept even further, the former Telstra Businesswoman of the Year launched the first global online radio station based inside a café in early 2013. Eagle Waves Radio brings together the best of what business people and entrepreneurs want from their working day: a dose of topical, relevant information in a buzzy, creative environment.

Bernie Brookes is the CEO responsible for the transformation of department store Myer’s from bricks and mortar to becoming one of Australia’s top online retailers.
Modelled on evidence from the UK and US, his theory is that online retailing will become dominated by the established names with national store footprints who can provide consumers with the “omni-channel” convenience of a bricks and clicks model.
He came to Myer in 2006 from grocery giant Woolworths and has a 34 year history within the retail industry in local and international roles in India and China across buying, IT, marketing and operations. He was the chief architect behind Woolworths Project Refresh. He has held various roles in a number of retail associations and community organisations, has received many industry awards and is the Australian representative judge of the World Retail Awards. @Myismystore

General Peter Cosgrove AC MC, was in 1999, thrust into the full glare of the nation′s spotlight following his appointment as Commander of the International Forces in East Timor (INTERFET).
Always in his slouch hat, he was a reassuring figure and we watched with pride the professionalism and concern of our peacekeeping forces who under his direction helped lay the foundations of a new nation.
In his subsequent rise to Chief of the Army and then, in July 2002, to Chief of the Defence Force, the General cemented his reputation as a modern-day warrior chieftain as he displayed those characteristics we value most as Australians - strength, determination, intelligence, compassion and humour.
His autobiography My Story was published in 2006. On 28 January 2014 General Peter Cosgrove was named the next Governor-General of Australia by Prime Minister, Tony Abbott.

Peter FitzSimons AM is a former Wallaby rugby international, acclaimed author, sports and current affairs journalist, broadcaster and raconteur.
He writes weekly columns for the Sydney Morning Herald and Sun Herald newspapers and is a correspondent for London’s Daily Telegraph. Writing is his passion and he has penned over 20 books - his latest release is a biography of Ned Kelly. In 2001, 2004 and 2006 he was Australia’s biggest selling non-fiction author.

He was acknowledged in the 2011 Queen’s Birthday Honours List for service to literature as a biographer; sports journalist and commentator; and to the community through contributions to conservation, disability care, social welfare and sporting organisations.
