World’s First Six Star Chef To Visit Sydney

Three Michelin star European chef Heinz Beck is hosting a series of exclusive events at Caffe Sicilia in Surry Hills on 26 November-2 December 2012 during his first ever visit to Sydney.
A godfather of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine, the award-winning chef is most renowned for his Three Michelin Star restaurant ‘La Pergola’ in Rome, alongside One Michelin Star restaurants ‘Apsleys – A Heinz Beck Restaurant’ in London and ‘Café Les Paillotes’ in Pescara, Italy.

Beck has received countless accolades such as the International Award of Catherine de Medici by the Regional Union of Tuscan Chefs, the Green Six Star Diamond Award (first chef in the world) by the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences and was celebrated at the Heinz Beck Gala at the Waldorf Astoria in New York. He has also published numerous best sellers that showcase his culinary genius including ‘L’Ingrediente Segreto’ (The Secret Ingredient), ‘LArte e Scienza del Servizio’ (The Art and Science of Service), ‘Vegetariano’ (Vegetarian) and ‘Pasta’.


In addition to corporate and group dinners, Beck will be collaborating with the Caffe Sicilia team to cook an 8-course dinner of his Three Michelin star cuisine (with matching wines) on Wednesday 28th of November, Thursday 29th of November and Saturday 1st of December for $350 per person. Four of Beck’s dishes on the Sicilian-inspired menu will be added permanently to Caffe Sicilia’s menu as a legacy of his culinary brilliance. 

These dishes include Crispy bread cannolo with sea bass and a brunoise of melon and celery; Sedanini pasta with red shrimps, smoked aubergine coulis and croutons; Veal in pistachio crust with mortadella and topinambur puree; and Orange jelly with bergamot ice cream and edible flowers.
